Pancake Sandwich & Lunchables Kindergarten & 3’s School Lunches

Hello from the other siiiiide

It’s been a while. Halloween has come and gone. I’ve not kept up with both this blog and my “fun” lunches. I’ve had a time getting my migraines and headaches under control. Anyone who has been through that knows, well…it’s a headache! I’m taking it minute by minute, some days.

Here are two of the many lunches I’ve made since we last saw each other. These are the only fun(ish) ones. At least I *hope* they were fun for them. 😀

Pancake and jam sandwiches, mandarin orange (Bigs), carrots (Smalls), grapes, cheddar sandwich crackers, dried cranberries, and three little oatmeal letter cookies.

Another homemade Lunchable – I’ve been doing these about once a week now! This time it was chicken, cheddar, Ritz, a mini banana muffin, mandarin orange (Bigs), grapes, and a piece of Halloween candy.

Peace n’ Blessins’ (look it up, it’s my favorite),

Lunch Catch Up

These weeks, you guys. Oh bless me. They’ve been challenging. I haven’t been on top of my daily lunch game, but I’ve been able to do a few. So here they are. In all their “glory”.

Sunbutter and jam (or ham and cheese, I just can’t remember!!) on hamburger buns, popcorn, green grapes, raisins, and a Twix bar.

Another Lunchable – ham, colby jack cheese, Ritz crackers, green grapes, pears, and a cut up Star Crunch.

Another hamburger bun with some kind of filling ( 🙂 ), green grapes, popcorn, and a “New York Peppermint Patty”, as my boys call them.

And for tomorrow’s lunches – mini pancakes and apple butter sandwiches, cubed cheese, rolled up ham, green grapes, and a few little chunks of Trader Joe’s pumpkin Pop Tarts.

Whew.

Have a great week!

Kindergarten & 3’s School Brunch

TGIF. We made it through another week. Mostly unscathed! I am looking forward to the weekend, however. I’m so tired!

I packed brunch for my boys’ lunches tomorrow. I made sunbutter and strawberry jam pancake sandwiches. I stuck tiny dinos on them, just for fun. I also packed colby jack cheese cubes, diced peaches, cotton candy grapes, and a few yogurt covered pretzels for dessert.

** This would also make a fun breakfast bento! **

Happy Friday!

Thursday Lunches

In continuing with Pond Week, I made another turtle lunch for my Bigs. I like how this one came out better than the other.

This little guy has a bit more personality. It’s a PB&J. I also packed honey wheat pretzels, assorted raisins, one date, strawberries, an organic yogurt squeeze, and a homemade dark red velvet cookie. It was big so I cut it in half. I also stuck a few turtle sprinkles on it. Because, sprinkles.

For my Smalls:

He requested pancakes this time, so I made three little PB sandwiches. Under one of those is a red velvet cookie. I also packed a few purple carrots, honey wheat pretzels, grapes, a few raisins, and one date.

And since I’ll be Co-op parent tomorrow, I made a lunch for me too:

I packed purple carrot slices, beet hummus, plain hummus, raisins, strawberries, nuts, dates, and some plain Greek yogurt, mixed with a little bit of maple sizzurp.

Happy (almost) Friday Eve,

Kristin

Bee Mine VPK School Lunch

Here is tomorrow’s lunch for my Bigs:

I made three little pancake PB&J (I used peach jelly this time). My boys love these little sandwiches. I also packed a few pretzel nuggets, a mandarin orange, blueberries, one heart shaped strawberry, one homemade dark red velvet cookie (recipe still forthcoming #imbusy), and two little conversation hearts, about which I know my buddy will flip. I also used a little “Bee Mine” bee ring and a heart pick as decoration.

Here is my Smalls lunch:

I also packed three little pancake sandwiches, a mandarin orange, a few pretzel nuggets, one dark red velvet cookie, and one conversation heart. Per his request, I also added vanilla yogurt (with a few sprinkles), and applesauce. He does not get decorations yet because he eats them. #iknowthisfromexperience

Have a great Thursday!

Brunch Break!

I packed a brunch lunch for my Bigs’ school lunch. I think everyone likes brunch. I could be mistaken, but I think not. What’s not to love? Breakfast and lunch favorites, all on the same plate, and you don’t have to get up early to eat it. #winning

I made peanut butter and honey pancake sandwiches. I only used a teeny bit of honey, so his little hands don’t get too sticky. I also packed some granola (Trader Joe’s mix – I picked out the nuts because he doesn’t care for those – dried cranberries, granola balls, Greek yogurt chips), freeze dried mango, a mandarin orange, red grapes, and applesauce with flower sprinkles.

Boo-ya, brunch is served.

Rise and Shine!

My Bigs goes to school Tuesdays through Fridays. It’s sort of nice to have our Monday “off”. Monday comes with such a stigma, that is mostly and completely based on truth. Mondays mostly stink! It’s hard to get back into the weekly routine after a busy weekend.

For Bigs’ lunch tomorrow, I packed a breakfast-y one. He LOVES eating big, breakfast-y breakfasts and we only seem to have time for that on weekends (and not even every weekend, sadly!). This will make him really happy, I think.

I made peanut butter and honey sandwiches out of mini pancakes. I used frozen pancakes this time (they’ll also stay cold on their own and be thawed by lunchtime). I put PB on each pancake and made a little divot in the middle for the honey (this will prevent them from getting soggy from the honey and will prevent the honey from leaking out, causing a sticky mess). I cut up some cooked turkey bacon. I also packed some banana chips, colby jack cheese cubes, fruit salad (yellow watermelon, pineapple, cotton candy grapes, and blueberries), and applesauce.

Have a blessed day!

Kristin
