Pumpkin Bagel Kindergarten School Lunch

wpid-wp-1442262929773.jpg

For tomorrow’s lunch, I packed a bagel with pumpkin cream cheese, a few pretzels, raisins, dried pineapple, cotton candy grapes, strawberries, and colby jack cheese.

Fun fact about today: my sons will only answer to “Leonardo” and “Raphael”.

Heroes in a half shell!

Happy Friday! Kindergarten & 3’s Pizza School Lunches

wpid-wp-1441917658868.jpg

Tomorrow is Friday. I think Fridays are meant to celebrate…you know, after school (work for most), is done. It’s a celebration of making it through the week, of having a blissful few days ahead. To celebrate Friday, I packed pizza rolls for my kiddos. I made them for dinner last night and my boys love them. They are so easy to make! I also packed raisins, strawberries (my Smalls doesn’t care for them because of the “bumps” [he’s a sensory kid!], but I am going to press my luck with just a few pieces), red grapes, freeze dried jack fruit, and a gluten and mostly dairy free cupcake (with orange tinted icing sugar glaze, Smalls got half of one).

HAPPY FRIDAAAAYYYY

This Week’s Lunches

What a busy, busy week I’ve had! Here is what I packed each day:

Tuesday:

I make two little PB&J’s on toasts. I also packed pretzels, blueberries, mandarin orange slices, seasoned corn and a homemade chocolate chip sprinkle cookie.

Wednesday:

wpid-wp-1430953483858.jpeg

I made a PB&J on a hot dog bun. I also packed red grapes, pretzels, strawberries, and a homemade chocolate chip sprinkle cookie.

Thursday was my last Helper Parent day in my Bigs’ class. When he goes to Kindergarten next year, his school doesn’t utilize the Helper Parent system. I will SO miss spending the school day with him. I look forward to starting all over with my Smalls next year! I had to pack three lunches for today:

Smalls got PB&J on a flat bread, broccoli with ranch for dipping, trail mix, and a homemade chocolate chip sprinkle cookie. For myself, I made a salad, packed ranch for dressing, a little piece of flatbread, two dates, and an apple. And for my Bigs, I packed a PB&J on a flat bread, red grapes, dried ginger, dates, strawberries, and a cookie.

And lastly, for tomorrow, Friday:

We had pizza tonight for dinner, so I packed a piece for Bigs. I also packed goldfish (cheeseburger flavor – so weird!), strawberries, grapes, and half of a chocolate chip cookie bar.

I hope you have a great weekend!

I’m on a boat!! (and a motorcycle)

It’s transportation week, continued!

wpid-wp-1429044499126.jpeg

Bigs’ has PB&J motorcycle and boat sandwiches (I used my Food Writers to add a few details), two dates, a few raisins, oyster crackers, fruit salad (green grapes, strawberries, and raspberries), and one marshmallow for dessert.

Splish splash, vroom vroom.

Ham On It

Tomorrow’s lunch is just as “creative” as today’s!

Hold your ears, folks (it’s showtime):

wpid-collage-2015-04-07-16_46_53.jpg.jpeg

It’s a ham, cheese (I use Applegate Naturals for both), and mayo on whole wheat. I also packed a few pretzel sticks, a fruit salad (strawberries, raspberries, and pineapple), and a chocolate cherry cookie.

That is all.

“Tired Mom” VPK School Lunch

This lunch could also be called “Hungover from Easter” (not in a drunk way, but in a way where we had a little too much Easter). We had such a busy Friday, weekend, and Monday celebrating Easter that the kids and I are just beyond pooped, especially with swim lessons starting today.

Zzzzzzzz…

Oh! Sorry.

Here is my big one’s lunch for tomorrow:

I put PB&J on a hamburger bun. Because that’s where I’m at. I also packed pretzel sticks, raisins, fruit salad (pineapple, red grapes, and strawberries), and … a fruit-by-the-foot. It was in one of the eggs at today’s egg hunt. He’ll be shocked I’m letting him have it, but delighted.

That’s it. I’m out.

Easter Egg VPK School Lunch

In keeping with the Easter theme for lunches this week, here is what I packed for my oldest:

wpid-photogrid_1427836745659.jpg

It’s an Easter egg shaped PB&J. I used my Food Writers to add fun details. I also packed Goldfish crackers, a mandarin orange, green grapes, strawberries, a chocolate cherry cookie, and two little jelly beans. I used a bunny cupcake pick as decoration.

Have a great Wednesday!

“Peeps” VPK School Lunch

It’s Easter week! That means re-emphasizing our Risen King…and fun Easter lunches! It’s also a short week, with no school on Good Friday, so I’ve got to pack a lot of cute into just three little lunches.

For tomorrow’s lunch, I went with one of my favorite candies – Peeps! While I didn’t use actual Peeps (those are going to be in the boys’ baskets), I made a PB&J into a Peeps shape. Are you Camp Peeps or Camp Ewww?

wpid-photogrid_1427750928760.jpg

I used my yellow Food Writers to outline the Peep shape and used gold foodsafe spray to emphasize his color. I used black for his trademark waxy eyeball (which I always nibble off first). I placed him back in his little sandwich nest. I Also packed grapes and strawberries, ice animal crackers, and a few jelly beans for dessert. I used a bunny cupcake pick for decoration. I also used Peeps cupcake wrappers, instead of my silicone ones. I found them at a craft store.

Word up to my peeps,

Kristin

Happy Friday – Deli VPK School Lunch

I have a Public Service Announcement for you – crepes are not a successful lunch choice for your kids at school. My oldest loved them, but told me how messy they were. He struggled with the dipping. And the dripping. Of the syrup. And my youngest avoided his crepe all together. I’m not at all sure what he ate his peanut butter with (probably just his finger), but at least he got some protein. So save them for dessert. Or snacking.

Anywho.

Here’s what I made for today’s lunch:

wpid-photogrid_1426260408100.jpg

It’s a turkey, cheddar, and mayo on wheat sandwich. I also packed strawberries, pineapple, pickles (my Bigs loves pickles), pretzel sticks (I still refuse to say “rods” – grody), and two Oreos.

Have a great weekend!

Kristin

PS – after I pick my buddy up at school, we are officially on Spring Break! WoO hOo!!

Bug Week – Caterpillar VPK School Lunch

wpid-photogrid_1425594716993.jpg

To round out bug week at school, I made a caterpillar lunch. A Very Hungry Caterpillar lunch. We love that book. Both of my boys have it memorized. It’s a fun one! I made two little PB&J caterpillars. I packed honey wheat pretzels, one date, a mandarin orange, strawberries, blueberries, a few assorted raisins, and some Trader Joe’s yogurt covered star cookies.

Have a great weekend!
